I recently got sucked into
War On Ice’s goalie data
, so I thought I would post some dashboards of the data.
These dashboards are about War On Ice’s Shot Danger Bins (bins are used to group quantitative data into broader groups of data), which they used to develop the Adjusted Save Percentage statistic. This new statistic accounts for the varying levels of shot quality (not completely, but that’s a discussion for another day) that goalies can face.
How well do your team’s defensemen perform on the powerplay? Do they attempt a lot of shots, only to be absorbed by opposing shinpads?
How about your team’s powerplay? How has it evolved over the past 8 years?
Check out the visualization below and explore what the data can show you.

historically bad
? Have they
recently improved
? Are they
playing the system to get McEichel
?
